Saturday Scream Queen: J.C. Brandy

J.C. Brandy is an actress and musician who got her start in the horror genre in the mid-1990s by playing the adult Jamie Carruthers in "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers" and a role on the "Kindred: The Embraced" television series.

Brandy is a self-described horror movie fan, but her career has consisted mostly of guest shots and bit-parts on various detective and drama televisions series. She can, however, also be seen in horror films "Devil in the Flesh" (1998), "What Lies Beneath"--barely, as the member of a band (2000), "Comedy Hell" (2006), anthology film "Prank" (2008), "The Victim"--barely, as a possible murder victim (2011), and the forthcoming "Tormented Souls", slated for release in 2013.

  1. Hm, not at all familiar with her - though I would have seen her in Halloween 6.

  2. Hi there ... Just want to clear things up ... I know J.C. and most of the bit parts/ cameos were done as favors to her friends. Both Prank and The Victim were done by her friends Danielle Harris and Jennifer Blanc. The murder victims are all friends of Jennifer's. She was in What Lies Beneath because they scouted her band Lo-Ball and hired them to be both in the movie (as the backing band for the daughter) and on the soundtrack. While the band was filming Robert Zemeckis asked her to be in another scene with Kate and Michelle (which is why she is the only band member with a screen credit). The whole sub plot story of the band and the daughter was eventually cut from the film and J.C. is not in it at all but the song by Lo-Ball was kept part of the soundtrack. The other films you listed she has costar parts in. Also, I believe the majority of her TV credits are guest star, recurring or series regular. Other horror/ sci-fi credits include Kindred the embraced, Star Trek The Next Generation and the movie Prometheus Bound. Hope this is helpful :)

  3. Thanks for the update/corrections.

The "What Lies Beneath" credit confused me, because I couldn't remember anything about a band in the film, but then I have few memories of the movie, period.
